Liberty Nursery will open in September 2027, beginning with a gentle settling-in period before the full nursery routine starts.

Liberty Nursery is for children aged three and four. Children must be three before they begin attending.

The nursery is open Monday to Thursday during school term time, from 8.00am until 4.30pm.

No. Families can choose an attendance pattern of one, two, three or four days each week, subject to availability. Children attend for the full nursery day on their chosen days.

There will be no more than 16 children attending each day. Keeping the nursery small allows our educators to develop close relationships with every child and know them deeply.

Yes. Eligible families can use 15 funded hours with selected attendance patterns, while 30 funded hours can be used by children attending four days each week. Funding is applied retrospectively each term, and we will explain clearly how this works before a place is accepted.

The fee includes the full nursery day, breakfast where required, lunch, snacks and the nursery’s complete programme of experiences and activities.

Children spend extensive time outdoors throughout the year, and nature is where much of our curriculum lives. The sheltered environment remains available for stories, creative experiences, reflection, rest and children who need a quieter moment.

Children continue to play and learn outdoors in most weather, with appropriate clothing and careful supervision. We adapt the day in response to severe weather and always prioritise children’s safety and comfort.

Children need practical clothes that allow them to move, explore and get messy, together with suitable waterproofs and footwear. We will provide families with a complete clothing list before their child starts.

No. We understand that children develop at different rates and will work sensitively with families while children build confidence and independence with toileting and personal care.

Yes. Children can access calm, comfortable spaces for rest and quiet time according to their individual needs, although the nursery does not have a fixed sleep period or sleep space for every child.

Settling is shaped around the individual child. We take time to learn about them, build a trusting relationship and work closely with their family, gradually supporting them to feel safe, known and confident in the nursery.

We consider every child individually and work closely with families to understand their needs. As a small nursery, we will always have an open and honest conversation about whether we can provide the support a child requires before offering a place.

Attending Liberty Nursery does not guarantee a Reception place. Families wishing to continue into Liberty Woodland School must apply through the school’s admissions process, and places depend upon suitability and availability.

Yes. The best way to understand Liberty Nursery is to experience it. Families will be invited to attend a Stay & Play, meet the team and explore the setting before deciding whether to apply.
