After studying English and Modern Languages and university followed by studies in filmmaking and psychoanalysis, Patricia went on to build a fulfilling 20-year career teaching in IB schools across the UK and internationally. With experience across both the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), Patricia has taught and examined across different subject groups, bringing a broad, knowledgeable, versatile and student-focused approach to the classroom.
At the heart of Patricia’s practice is a deep commitment to student wellbeing. Alongside five years of safeguarding experience, she has developed a strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health, which shapes a nurturing and supportive learning environment. Through roles as a form tutor, head of year, PSHE coordinator and in wider school leadership, has worked closely with students and families to ensure young people feel seen, supported and able to thrive both academically and personally.
A passionate advocate of the IB philosophy, Patricia strongly believes in international-mindedness, openness and the importance of wellbeing as the foundation for meaningful learning. Her enthusiasm for languages, literature and the arts underpins a love of helping students find their voice, think critically and engage thoughtfully with the world around them.
As an IB examiner, Patricia brings valuable insight into assessment and curriculum, enriching her teaching with a balanced, holistic approach that places the student firmly at the centre of the learning experience.
