Our priority is to provide the highest quality first teaching and a learning environment in which all children can contribute fully and feel valued; our intention is that every child should be given full access to their educational entitlement with opportunities to build resilience and learn without limits.
Nurture is a core principle at the heart of all that we do. Within our inclusive, holistic provision, the SEND aims of the school are:
to provide differentiated and personalised support appropriate to the individual’s needs
to ensure the identification of all children requiring SEND support as early as possible in their school journey
to enable all children with SEND to participate fully in the life and learning of the school
to work in close partnership with parents/carers of children with SEND
to create an environment where children with SEND can contribute to their own learning, where they feel safe and listened to
Support for pupils with SEND
We believe in positive intervention, removing or adjusting barriers to learning, maintaining high expectations, and working in partnership with other agencies in order to provide a positive educational experience for children with a special educational need or disability. A child will be identified as having a Special Educational Need in one or more of the following areas: Communication & Interaction (including Autistic Spectrum disorders), Cognition & Learning (including Specific Learning Differences), Social, emotional and mental health, and Sensory/Physical needs. When a child’s needs have been identified or diagnosed, additional SEN support can be provided. This is support that is additional to and different from that which is available to all.
