Leanna is a co-founder, alongside her husband James of Little Forest Folk nurseries, created to provide Leanna’s own and other children with the childhood they deserve.
Leanna has now founded and leads Liberty Woodland School, a school born from her vision and dream of what education should be in today’s world.
HEAD OF SCHOOL
Steve gained his PGCE at UWIC in Cardiff and has now been teaching and leading across the Early Years and Primary age range for 13 years. During this time he has led teams on curriculum redesign and professional development to strive towards making learning as meaningful and purposeful as possible for students.
Having taught in Bristol, Kuala Lumpur and Guangzhou, he has worked in a wide range of diverse settings and is excited to now be joining the Liberty Woodland School team.
Alice holds a BA in Primary Education specialising in Early Years and taught for 11 years in outstanding Hackney Primary Schools. During this time, she also spent 3 years leading professional development in teaching early reading and writing.
Two years ago Alice opened Little Forest Folk Wandsworth as Manager and has never looked back. She is fascinated by children’s innate desire to explore the great outdoors and is thrilled to be part of the Liberty Woodland School leadership team.
Anna is an Early Childhood trained teacher from Perth in Western Australia and has recently relocated to London, with New Zealand born parents she has spent much of her life immersed in a variety of outdoor settings.
Anna comes from a diverse teaching background, placing a focus on outdoor education. Most recently Anna has taught at a school in Western Australia that is leading the way in progressive education following a Reggio Emilia inspired, play, nature, project and inquiry based philosophy.
Anna is very excited to be continuing her educational journey and joining Liberty Woodland School!
Abbey has been a teacher for the last 5 years and has worked across all age groups. She loved getting her classes outside as often as possible as she believes this is where they can best to build confidence and become imaginative learners. She has a degree in Literature and Philosophy and is trained in delivering philosophy for children.
Abbey grew up in Devon and spent her teenage years roaming Dartmoor looking for the beast of Bodmin. Now, she loves wild swimming and has been learning how to forage as her one of her main passions in life is cooking exciting food that uses seasonal and local produce.
Abbey has been educational leader with Little Forest Folk Wimbledon for some time and is excited to join Liberty Woodland School!
Harry has a degree in Anthropology & Media and in 2016 completed a training in Leadership and Environmental Education. He has worked with children as young as 2 and as old as 17 in a variety of environments including traditional state schools, refugee camps and forest settings.
Harry is passionate about outdoor education and learning that is holistic and focus’ on children’s wellbeing, emotional intelligence and curiosity.
Jacob spent the last two years living in Wiltshire where he worked as a forest school leader.
Jacob loves woodland and trees and likes to carve spoons in his spare time. He also has a keen interest in quantum physics, psychology, art and bouldering.
Art and design has always been a huge passion of Leia’s. She has a degree in Decorative Arts and often created outdoor art with early years and primary school children during her PGCE and teaching posts.
Leia loves nothing better than crafting and experimenting with media, materials, texture and colour. Leia feels that engaging in art has endless benefits; for example creating art is a wonderful way for children to explore and express their feelings and can often be a very therapeutic experience for them.
Michael is a music teacher and teacher of The Alexander Technique from Brazil. He also works as a musician, composer and music producer in London.
Michael came to London to specialise in education in a holistic form through the Alexander Technique, looking into the connections between how our body works, and how our thoughts affect our emotional responses.
He is very excited to be part of the Liberty Woodland School team, to provide the children with the best possible understanding of all forms of music, and joyfulness in practice and performance.
Gavin has had 30 years of experience as a carpenter, and in the last few years has been pursuing his passion of working with children.
Gavin is in his third year of completing a level 6 Diploma in Wellbeing Practice for Children and Young People, and has volunteered at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Kids Venture and as an assistant Scout leader.
He is very excited to be able to combine his passions.
Tara has been a qualified teacher for 6 years and her heart has always felt a longing for the great outdoors.
She enjoys creating learning that is exciting and stimulating for all involved and believes that exploration is the key!
At weekends she can be found in the woods with her dog and daughter searching for fairies...
HEAD OF ADMISSIONS
Carly loves adventure and the outdoors, spending her free time hiking, cycling and exploring the countryside.
She has an event management background and loves being part of behind the scenes operations.
Carly has been with Little Forest Folk for almost 3 years and is passionate about the benefit of nature and spending time outdoors.
